Four Days Gone

Still in Connecticut and having a good time. I am still mildly dealing with allergy issues (or it's possible that i am just plain sick) but I was able to get my doctor to phone in a prescription up here so I'm getting better. Still can't taste anything and that is really pissing me off because we are eating some great food that is doing nothing for me. But oh well. We're still having a good time hanging out with family, playing with the kids, and relaxing as much as possible. On Friday, we took an epic BJ's run and loaded up on tons of non-perishable food stuff like ramen, canned beans, granola, Clif Bars, stuff like that. We won't be totally living on all that but it will help augment our diet and help us out when we are in the middle of nowhere.

Yesterday we got to see Brayden play his first t-ball game and that was a trip. There is nothing more amusing than watching a field full of four-year-olds playing ball. Or, more accurately, standing in a field where ball is being played. An adorable mess. After that, we had a little early birthday shindig for Krissy here at the house and we watched the Kentucky Derby. Today we are heading back down to Port Chester for a birthday party for Jack and Scarlett and hopefully the weather will hold up for that.

Tomorrow we head out for our first non-regular stop on the tour, to visit with Vicki in Ipswich MA. At this point I keep going back and forth with denial. Part of me keeps thinking that this is just a typical trip to CT and we will head home tomorrow to see the kitties and resume our normal lives. But nope. This is the launching pad to new and wild things, the beginning of the beginning. Wow!
